Everything is computed on the watch and the phone. The trade-offs we accepted to keep it that way.
PlayDNA has no sign-up screen, and it never will. This is not a shortcut we have not got around to; it is the architecture. Here is what it buys you, and what it costs us.
01 — What on-device means
Scoring, shot classification, the Match Profile, Coach and your full history are computed on the watch and the phone. Sync between your two devices rides your own iCloud through Apple’s private CloudKit database — we hold no key, no copy and no console to peek at. Deleting the app deletes everything, because there is no other copy.
02 — The trade-offs we accepted
No account means no web dashboard you can log into from a laptop. No cloud backup from us, only Apple’s encrypted device backup. No team-sharing features that would need a server. We think that trade is right for a match journal: the data exists to serve the player who generated it, on the device that generated it.
03 — The one thing we do ask
Corrections. When the classifier gets a shot wrong, you can relabel it — and, only if you choose, share that anonymous two-second correction so the next build is smarter. No name, no score, no heart rate attached. It is the only data that has ever left the app, and it leaves only when you tap share.
